When I was a kid, I wanted to be ... a fashion designer. I loved sewing and making wearable creations.

What would you rather be doing right now? After this winter, I would love to be relaxing on a beach with gentle, warm breezes.

Shhhhhh! Don't tell anyone that ... when I am really tired, I sit in my recliner and watch mindless shows on TV.

Other than your wedding day and the birth of your children, what was your proudest moment? When I received the Continued Excellence Award from the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Science Award in St. Paul, Minn.

It really stinks when ... people are disrespectful and unkind.

What word in the dictionary would your face be next to? Energetic.

I always laugh when ... I pet baby kittens and puppies

Invite any three people, living or dead, to dinner. Who are they? My dad, who is deceased, to hear his heartwarming laugh again; Pope Francis, who I admire greatly; and George Clooney, because he is such a hunk.

At the end of a really long day at work, I like to ...have a glass of wine and relax.

People who knew me in high school thought I was ... fun.

If someone gave me a million dollars, there is still no way I would ...change my lifestyle. I am who I am.

America should be more concerned about ... our current economic situation and the national debt that will impact our children and future generations.

I'm OK if there's ever a national shortage of ... shoes. I have enough to last a lifetime, but it would be sad not to get to buy more if there was a shortage

When I'm on the Internet, I always go to ... a news source. I love being up to date on the news.

What is the most useful piece of advice you have ever received? If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." From my mother.

When I'm cruising down the road, I'm likely listening to ... Sirius '60s on 6. Does that date me?

I always get sentimental when ... I see my children's baby pictures. Where did all the years go?

The older I get, the more I realize ... life is short. Live one day at a time and enjoy each day.

If I had one "do-over," I would ... have spent more time with my family and less time working.

My favorite item of clothing is ... I love all of my clothing. It is kind of my thing.

If I've learned anything at all everyone has struggles, so treat everyone you meet with kindness and compassion.
