Jim and Jo Anne Spalding

Jim and Jo Anne Spalding of Sun City, Ariz., will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a reception from 1 to 3 p.m. May 25 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Monroe City, Mo. Family and friends are invited; they request no gifts.

The couple was married May 31, 1954, in Blessed Sacrament Church in Springfield.

They are the parents of four children, Julie (Mark) Leake of Kirksville, Mo., Jane (Keith) Crowe of Hunnewell, Mo., Jim Jr. (Diana) of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Joni (Steve) Karr of New London, Mo. They have 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

The Spaldings met while attending the St. Louis College of Pharmacy in St. Louis. They married while Mr. Spalding was in the service. In 1955 they moved to Monroe City and purchased and operated Spalding Pharmacy until 1984.
