DaVida and Ivan Wear Jr.

DaVida and Ivan Wear Jr. of 5203 Hanley Road will mark their 40th wedding anniversary with a family dinner.

They were married June 1, 1974, in Faith Assembly of God Church.

Mrs. Wear, the former DaVida L. Starkey, is a daughter of David E. Starkey of Quincy and the late Marylynn E. Birchfield Starkey. Mr. Wear is a son of the late Ivan O. Wear Sr. and the late Virginia Wear.

They are the parents of Ivan O. Wear III, Jacob Wear and Chevee Carter, and Ryan and Rebecca Wear, all of Quincy. They have five grandchildren.

Mr. Wear is employed by Area Distributors, and Mrs. Wear is employed by Blessing Hospital and enjoys running.

They are members of Riverside Community Church, where they are involved in church activities and Mr. Wear serves as a church elder and usher.

It had been several years since Baker, an all-stater as a senior at Pittsfield High School, had seen the game. "I sure was awful skinny, and those shorts were awful short," he said with a laugh. "But it was neat to watch. It's kind of a blur, but I can remember plays that were called in every game. It's so surreal."
