Larry and Jean Flesner

Larry and Jean Flesner of Golden are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the Village Winery in Camp Point. The event is being hosted by their daughters and family. Family and friends are invited.

The couple was married May 31, 1964, in Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden.

Mrs. Flesner, the former Jean McGinnis, is a daughter of the late Bill and Winnie McGinnis of Huntsville. Mr. Flesner is a son of the late Louis and Alvina Flesner of Golden.

They are the parents of Lenora (Kevin) Hennen of Camp Point and Bonnie (Soren) Flessen of Batavia. They have five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Flesner is a farmer and enjoys fishing.

Mrs. Flesner farms with her husband.

They are members of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoy keeping up with their grandchildren.

Tony Baker recently watched a video of the 1991 Class A state championship game with his 11-year-old daughter. It had been several years since Baker, an all-stater as a senior at Pittsfield High School, had seen the game. "I sure was awful skinny, and those shorts were awful short," he said with a laugh. "But it was neat to watch. It's kind of a blur, but I can remember plays that were called in every game. It's so surreal."
