Kenny and Kathy Peter

Kenny and Kathy Peter of rural Liberty will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house, hosted by their children, from 2 to 5 p.m. June 14 in the Quincy Mall Community Room. Family and friends are invited; they request no gifts.

The couple was married June 13, 1964, in St. Brigid Catholic Church in Liberty.

Mrs. Peter, the former Kathy LaTour, is a daughter of the late Clair and Mildred LaTour. Mr. Peter is a son of the late Richard and Elizabeth Peter.

They are the parents of Richard (fiancee, Loni Lyttaker) of Bader, Rhonda Peter of Quincy, Robert (Paula) and Renea (Mike) Kurfman, all of Liberty, and Rochelle (Todd) Schutte of Ballwin, Mo. They have eight grandchildren.

Mr. Peter was employed by Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. for 18 years, St. Anthony School for 10 years, and retired from Quanada in 2010 after 10 years of employment.

Mrs. Peter was food service school cafeteria manager for St. Anthony School for 10 years, cafeteria worker at Quincy High School for four years, Hy-Vee deli employee for eight years, and retired as a kitchen employee at Chaddock in 2010 after 11 years of service.

They are members of St. Anthony Catholic Church and enjoy hunting, fishing, spending time with their family and attending their grandchildren's activities.
