Ronald and Jane Beck of Mendon will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 4 to 8 p.m. June 21 in the Elks Club, hosted by their children. Family and friends are invited; they request no gifts.
Mr. Beck, of Moweaqua, and the former Jane Stauter, of Assumption, were married June 21, 1964, in the Assumption Christian Church.
Mrs. Beck is a daughter of the late Margaret and Leslie Stauter. Mr. Beck is a son of the late Wilma and Ralph Beck.
They are the parents of Kevin Beck of Mendon and Cathy (Ken) Wilson of Rushville. They have six grandchildren.
Mr. Beck owns the Beck Insurance Agency in Mendon and works along with his son. He is a member of the Mendon Lions Club.
Mrs. Beck taught English at Unity High School in Mendon, helped her husband in the insurance agency, was the activity director at North Adams Home in Mendon, and at age 50 went back to school at Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing and received a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She worked at Blessing Hospital, Olsten Home Care, the Adams County Health Department and retired from the Quincy Medical Group. She is involved with the Emmaus Ministry and is a hospice volunteer.
The Becks are very involved in church activities at Mendon Congregational United Church of Christ and enjoy traveling, especially bus trips, and their favorite trip was to Alaska. They also enjoy going to the Ozarks, spending time with friends, playing cards and watching their grandchildren play sports, participate in other school, church and community activities, and taking them places.
