Gilbert and Charlotte McGlaughlin

Gilbert and Charlotte McGlaughlin are marking their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 6 to 10 p.m. July 12 at the Twin Oaks Club. Their children and grandchildren will host the event. Family and friends are invited; they request no gifts.

Mr. McGlaughlin and the former Charlotte Conover were married June 27, 1964, in Union United Methodist Church.

Mrs. McGlaughlin is a daughter of the late Roy Conover and the late Fern Genenbacher, and a stepdaughter of the late George Genenbacher. Mr. McGlaughlin is a son of  the late Everett McGlaughlin and the late Stella McGlaughlin Baker.

They are the parents of Rick (Amy) McGlaughlin of Quincy and Brent McGlaughlin of Mendon. They have five grandchildren.

Mr. McGlaughlin was employed by Motorola for 17 years until it closed, and retired in 2001 from Glenayre after 12 1/2 years of service. He is a member of the Quincy Deaf Club, a lifetime member of the South Side Boat Club and Twin Oaks Club, and enjoys fishing.

Mrs. McGlaughlin retired in 2010 from Mercantile Bank after 48 years of service. She is over a 30-year member of the South Side Boat Club and the Ladies Aid Society and enjoys line dancing.
