Thomas H. and Norma I. Buffington

Thomas H. and Norma I. Buffington of Quincy will observe their 60th wedding anniversary.

They were married July 10, 1954, in Luther Memorial Church.

Mrs. Buffington is the former Norma Tieken, daughter of the late George and Clara Heubner Tieken, formerly of Coatsburg and Quincy. Mr. Buffington is a son of the late Thomas J. Buffington and Florence Buffington Lamy of Barry and Quincy.

They are the parents of a son, Terre (Nancy) Buffington. They have three grandsons and three great-grandchildren; a great-granddaughter is deceased.

Mr. Buffington retired from Gardner Denver after 40 years of service, and is a World War II veteran, having served in the 16th Cavalry Tanks under Gen. George Patton. He enjoys radio-controlled airplanes.

Mrs. Buffington retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Co. and was a volunteer for the Illinois Veterans Home for 20 years. She is a former member of the Knights of Columbus Golf Course and scored two holes in one.

They are members of Luther Memorial Church.

The couple met at Scottie's roller rink on North 12th Street.
