LIBERTY, Ill. — Two of the seven people injured in a two-car crash on the Plainville Blacktop at 5:18 p.m. Saturday remain hospitalized Monday.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Department reports a 2009 Ford Taurus driven by Marjorie Niekamp, 86, of Quincy, was turning left out of a private drive when it was struck in the front passenger side by a 2003 Mazda SUV driven by Brenan Perry, 18, of Quincy.

Injured were Marjorie Niekamp, and her passenger, Juanita Niekamp, 60, of Quincy, Brenan Perry, and his passenger, James E. Perry, 39, of Quincy, and three juveniles between 16 and 17 years old.  Police would not release the names of the juveniles. Both Perrys remain hospitalized and are listed in fair condition Monday, according to a hospital spokesman.

One of passengers in Perry’s SUV was ejected and taken to Blessing Hospital by Air Evac. The others who were injured were taken to the hospital by ambulance.

All but one person involved in the crash was wearing a seat belt.

Marjorie Niekamp was ticketed on a charge of failure to yield turning left.
