Jim Wolf can't wait to show his fellow Harley-Davidson riders the roads he gets to travel every time he pulls out his 2012 Ultra Limited Harley.

Wolf and other event organizers are expecting between 500 and 750 Harley enthusiasts from around the state to gather in Quincy this week for the 25th annual Illinois State Harley Owners Group (HOG) Rally.

The rally starts with registration on Thursday and runs through Saturday with a number of events.

"We just want to celebrate the Harley riders' experience," Wolf said.

Participants can take self-guided rides around the area, show off their driving skills during bike games and see the latest products and motorcycles Harley-Davidson has to offer.

This is the third time the Quincy-based River Roads Harley chapter has played host to the rally, which is backed by Harley-Davidson. Quincy held the event in 2003 and was the first leg in a rolling rally last year that ended in Effingham.

Wolf said riders can choose from several different routes of area roads for self-guided and ticket rides. The rally also will offer a historic scavenger walk of downtown Quincy on Friday and Saturday.

The rally's big day of events is Saturday. Town and Country Inn and Suites, 110 N. 54th, is the host hotel and will be the scene of several unique events. A tattoo contest, beard contest and bling contest will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the hotel's parking lot. Various bike games, which will showcase participants driving skills, will be held.

TNT Action Sports, 5101 Oak, will be home to the Harley-Davidson demo trailer and other vendors. It also will be the site of a welcome party on Friday night. A vendor mall will be open until 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, while the demo trailer will be open form 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day at TNT.

A parade through the Illinois Veterans Home is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Saturday. The rally will wrap up with a street party behind Town and Country Inn and Suites with "The Well Hungarians" performing.

Wolf expects many people to register just before the event.

Harley Owners Group members can participate in the 25th annual state rally this week in Quincy. Cost is $40. The general public is invited to the street party on Saturday night, and tickets for the street party are available at TNT Action Sports, 5101 Oak. For more information about the rally, visit
