William and Janet Hilgenbrinck

William and Janet Hilgenbrinck of 2672 Hwy. 96 N., Ursa, will mark their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. July 27 at the American Legion Hall near Mendon, the site of their original wedding reception. Their children will host the event. Family and friends are invited.

Mr. Hilgenbrinck and the former Janet Andrew were married July 24, 1954, in St. Edward Church in Mendon.

Mrs. Hilgenbrinck is a daughter of the late Elva and Ruth Andrew, formerly of Ursa. Mr. Hilgenbrinck is a son of the late Herman "Bud" and Marie Hilgenbrinck, also formerly of Ursa.

They are the parents of Ruth and Marie, who died in infancy, Kent, Matt (Bobbi) and Tim (Debra), all of Ursa, Linda of Lake Dallas, Texas, Bill (Deann) of Mendon and Beth (Ricky) of Spring Branch, Texas. They have 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren with a great-grandchild due to arrive soon.

Mr. Hilgenbrinck previously owned and operated Marcelline Farm Supply and then drove for Thompson Trucking. Now retired, he continues to farm. Mrs. Hilgenbrinck is a homemaker.

They are members of St. Edward Church in Mendon and invite family and friends to attend a celebration Mass at 10:30 a.m. July 27 at the church, prior to the open house. They enjoy watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball, NASCAR, supporting area sports teams and events, and gatherings with family.

The Hilgenbrincks met as neighbors and were high school sweethearts.
