Norman and Anita Dicks

Norman and Anita Dicks of 1619 Jackson celebrated 50 years of marriage with a party Friday with family and friends, hosted by their children.

The couple was married July 18, 1964, in Immanuel Baptist Church.

Mrs. Dicks is the former Anita Ellis, daughter of the late Elmer and Miriam Ellis. Mr. Dicks is a son of the late Alfred "Butch" and Jean Dicks.

They are the parents of Derek (Tara) Dicks and Danielle (Adam) Koch, all of Quincy. They have three grandchildren.

Mr. Dicks retired from Titan Wheel and enjoys hunting and fishing.

Mrs. Dicks retired from KGRC Radio.

The couple met in junior high school.

Tony Baker recently watched a video of the 1991 Class A state championship game with his 11-year-old daughter. It had been several years since Baker, an all-stater as a senior at Pittsfield High School, had seen the game. "I sure was awful skinny, and those shorts were awful short," he said with a laugh. "But it was neat to watch. It's kind of a blur, but I can remember plays that were called in every game. It's so surreal."
