U.S. 24 will be closed 1.7 miles west of Interstate 172, northeast of Quincy, for nearly four weeks starting Wednesday.

The Illinois Department of Transportation has hired County Contractors Inc. of Quincy to replace two culverts over Frazier Creek at a cost of $685,000. Work will begin Wednesday if weather permits.

Culvert replacement will lead to closure of the road for a period not to exceed 26 calendar days. Pavement work will take up to 10 working days after the culverts are replaced.
