MENDON, Ill. -- Two Mendon men were arrested Wednesday on cannabis charges by officers with the West Central Illinois Task Force and the Adams County Sheriff's Department.
Authorities reported that David A. Rife, 24, and Justin M. Reid, 26, were arrested on charges of unlawful delivery of between 30 and 500 grams of cannabis. Rife was arrested at his residence in the 300 block of North State Street after officers conducted a warranted search, and Reid was arrested at his residence in the 200 block of West High Street on an Adams County arrest warrant, police said.
Officers reported the seizure of cannabis and drug paraphernalia from Rife's residence.
The arrests came after a monthlong task force investigation in northern Adams County. Both men were being held in the Adams County Jail.
Rife was released from jail after he made his first appearance Thursday in Adams County Circuit Court. His bond was set at $5,000, and Rife posted $500. Public Defender Brett Jansen was assigned to his case.
Reid also made his first court appearance Thursday. His bond was set at $10,000, and Public Defender Todd Nelson was assigned to his case.
