Kahoka driver injured when thrown from overturning vehicle

WAYLAND, Mo. -- A Kahoka driver was injured when he was thrown from his overturning car at 10:18 am. Sunday on U.S. 136, two miles west of Wayland.

Mathew C. McCreary, 19, was taken by Air Evac to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill., where he was reported in serious condition in the Intensive Care Unit early Monday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported McCreary was driving a 2002 Chrysler Sebring east when it ran off the right side of the highway, struck a culvert and overturned, throwing him from the vehicle.

Also assisting were the Clark County Sheriff's Department, Clark County Ambulance and Wayland Fire Department.
