Two arrested in Knox County thefts of tools, scrap metal

EDINA, Mo. -- Two men have been arrested in connection with the theft of thousands of dollars worth of tools and scrap metal.

The Knox County Sheriff's Department reported that Randy Roeder, 24, of Canton, and Keith A. Murphy, 25, of LaBelle, were arrested Monday on Class C felony charges of burglary and theft/stealing of property of $500 or more.

Roeder and Murphy remain lodged in the Lewis County Jail in lieu of $10,000 and $25,000, respectively.

The items were taken from a building owned by William D. Davis on Mo. 6 west of Knox City.

Assisting in the investigation were the Lewis County Sheriff's Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol and Missouri Conservation Department.
