The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2011 Polaris Razor driven by Allan R. Betts, 52, of Clarksville, was northbound on Highway YY, one mile west of Mo. 79, at 12:30 a.m. Betts attempted to negotiate a series of sharp turns, causing the vehicle to overturn.

Betts and a passenger, Barbara A. Betts, 56, of Clarksville, were taken by personal vehicle to Pike County Memorial Hospital.

The patrol also reported a 2002 Saturn SL2 driven by Magdelyn J. Schmidt, 19, of Vandalia, was westbound on U.S. 54 east of Highway 154 at 5:30 a.m. when it traveled off the right side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned.

Schmidt was taken by private vehicle to Audrain Medical Center.
