An information session about the Truck Driver Training Program at John Wood Community College will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, at the Workforce Development Center, 4220 Koch's Lane.
The next night class is scheduled to start Sept. 8. Classes meet from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Friday for 10 weeks. The next day class starts Monday, Sept. 29. Classes meet from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday for four weeks, plus a one-week pre-session.
People attending the information session will learn details on a new online class being offered. Representatives from the Truck Driver Training Program will give a brief presentation reviewing admission requirements, registration and career opportunities in the trucking industry.
The JWCC Truck Driver Training Program offers the latest technology to educate students, including an up-to-date computer lab. Industry-standard equipment is used as teaching tools, and all courses are certified by the Professional Truck Driver Institute. Area truck driving firms are hiring now. Some employers may fund tuition costs.
