LIBERTY, Ill. — A rollover accident on the east edge of Liberty killed a 34-year-old woman and seriously injured three others early Sunday morning.
Amanda N. Krutmeier, of 1994 N. 1100th Ave. west of Liberty, was pronounced dead at the scene by Adams County Coroner James Keller at 4:48 a.m. Sunday. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, according to a news release from the Adams County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies reported they responded to the single-vehicle accident at North 803rd Lane, one-tenth of a mile west of Ill. 104, at 3:24 a.m. A 2001 Jeep Carry-All driven by Jeff T. Tenhouse, 47, of rural Liberty, had rolled over at the T-intersection and came to rest in front of a residence owned by Kyle Terstriep.
Tenhouse, along with passengers Douglas R. Tenhouse, 34, of Unionville, Mo., and Robert E. Hyer, 41, of rural Quincy, were taken to Blessing Hospital in Quincy by Adams County ambulances. They were not wearing seat belts at the time of the accident, police said.
Douglas Tenhouse was in stable condition in the medical-surgical unit early Monday morning, and Hyer was reported in serious condition in the Intensive Care Unit.
Jeff Tenhouse was treated at the hospital and released to the custody of the Adams County Sheriff's Department. He is lodged in the Adams County Jail pending his first court appearance on a charge or charges related to the accident.
Passengers Donald C. Krutmeier, 36, the husband of Amanda Krutmeier, and a juvenile were not injured in the accident. Police are not releasing the name of the juvenile.
