Mr. and Mrs. Elzie Kirby of Bowen will observe their 60th wedding anniversary. Their children invite family and friends to honor the couple with a card shower. Cards may be sent to them at 112 E. Davis, Bowen, IL 62316.

Mr. Kirby and the former Alberta Klingler were married Oct. 22, 1949, in the Bethlehem United Church of Christ parsonage in Sutter.

They are the parents of Marsha Icenogle of Macomb and Alan Kirby and his wife, Linda, of Vienna. They have three grandchildren.

Mr. Kirby was a Marine in World War II. After returning home, he engaged himself in farming and retired in 1990.

Mrs. Kirby, a homemaker, was a cook for several years at Southeastern Elementary School.

They are members of Bowen Living Faith United Methodist Church.
