Celebrating 50 years of marriage (Nov. 14, 1959)

Jim D. and Charaldine Smith of New Canton will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 1 to 6 p.m. Nov. 14 in the Vollbracht Building, located on the corner of Bainbridge and Mortimer streets in Barry. Family and friends are invited; they request no gifts.

Mrs. Smith, the former Charaldine Morgan, is a daughter of the late Kathryn Morgan of Barry. Mr. Smith is a son of the late Marshall and Lela Smith of New Canton.

They are the parents of Dan Smith of Barry and David Smith of New Canton. They have three grandchildren.

Mr. Smith is retired from Pike County FS in Kinderhook and farming. He is the manager of the Quincy Gun Club.

Mrs. Smith is retired from F and M Bank in Hannibal, Mo. She also worked for the West Pike School District.

They are members of the United Methodist Church in New Canton, where they both are on the board.
