The parents of Jean Christine Brinkman and Justin Dean Oenning have announced the couple's engagement. An Oct. 17 wedding is planned in St. Francis Church.

The bride-elect is a daughter of Stan and Joan Brinkman of Payson. She is a 2000 graduate of Seymour High School in Payson, a 2007 graduate of John Wood Community College and will graduate in December from Western Illinois University with a bachelor of business degree with a major in accountancy and minor in finance. She is a member of the Student Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants. Miss Brinkman is a server at Ruby Tuesday.

The prospective bridegroom is a son of Gene and Connie Oenning of Ursa. He is a 2000 graduate of Unity High School and is a manager at Water Works.
