Joseph and Patty Lanning of 1624 Midlan Drive have announced the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Lanning, to Jay Collins, son of Wayne and Donna Collins of Atlanta, Ga.

The bride-elect, of Alpharetta, Ga., is a 1999 graduate of Quincy Notre Dame High School, a 2003 graduate of John Wood Community College and a 2007 summa cum laude graduate of Sanford Brown Institute. Miss Lanning is employed by Sugo Restaurant.

The prospective bridegroom, of Roswell, Ga., is a 1992 graduate of Greater Atlanta Christian School and a 1997 magna cum laude graduate of Harding University, where he was a member of TNT fraternity. Mr. Collins is a mortgage loan officer.

A Nov. 14 wedding is planned in North Atlanta Church of Christ in Atlanta.
