The engagement of Melissa Kay Golden and Brian Ferris Bay has been announced by her parents, John and Grace Golden of Knox City, Mo. Mr. Bay is a son of David and Janet Bay of Moscow Mills, Mo.

The bride-elect, of Columbia, Mo., is a 2004 graduate of Highland High School. She earned a bachelor's degree in biological engineering in 2008 from the University of Missouri, where she is a graduate student in biological engineering.

The prospective bridegroom, of Warrenton, Mo., earned a bachelor's degree in computer science in 2004 from the University of Missouri. He is a software engineer for Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

The couple will be married Nov. 14 in First Baptist Church in St. Charles, Mo.
