First Christian Church was the setting for the Aug. 29 wedding of Miss Tristan Renee McColez and Matthew Arthur Hermsmeier, both of 1900 Golden Grove.
The bride is a daughter of Phil and Vicki McColez of 1000 Washington. The bridegroom is a son of Art and Bea Hermsmeier of 3316 Crestview Drive.
The 3 p.m. ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Tracey Armstrong; the bride was given in marriage by her father. Music was provided by Mackenzie Fairley, vocalist, and Lacey Phillips, pianist. Readers were Jenna Buckner and Haley Saalborn.
Maid of honor was Tori McColez of Quincy, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Lyndsay Kressner and Thera Green, both of Quincy, and Nicole Baer of St. Louis.
Best man was Curtis Higgins of Quincy. Groomsmen were Brent Hermsmeier of Raymore, Mo., and Andy Hermsmeier of Kansas City, Mo., brothers of the bridegroom, and Zach Campbell of Quincy.
Ushers were Scott Moore and Chad Scott, both of Quincy.
Flower girl was Ella Barnett of Macon, Mo., cousin of the bride, and ring bearers were Colin and Devin Hermsmeier of Quincy, sons of the bridegroom.
The bridegroom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner Aug. 28 in the Patio. A reception began at 7 p.m. in the Knights of Columbus.
The newlyweds are at home at 1900 Golden Grove after honeymooning in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
The bride graduated in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Quincy University, where she played on the women's volleyball team. She is pursuing a master's degree in administration and teaches special education in Hannibal, Mo.
The bridegroom graduated in 1997 with a bachelor of science degree in law enforcement and justice administration from Western Illinois University, where he played on the men's soccer team. Mr. Hermsmeier has been a Quincy police officer with the city of Quincy since 1998.
