Mr. and Mrs. Jason Thomas Merrill honeymooned in Riviera Maya, Mexico, after their marriage Aug. 14 in Quincy University Chapel.

The bride, the former Miss Alison Marie Lewis of 816 N. 27th, is a daughter of Bud and Mary Lewis of Knoxville. The bridegroom, also of 816 N. 27th, is a son of Tom and Pam Merrill of Browning.

Mr. Lewis gave his daughter in marriage during the 7 p.m. ceremony conducted by the Rev. Carlos Ruiz, who was assisted by the Rev. J.J. Lakers. Music was provided by Eric Steitz, hammered dulcimer and woodwinds; Sarah Harmon, soloist; and Jesse Mazzoccoli, guitarist.

Attending the bride was her sister, Amanda Aviles of Bloomington. Bridesmaids were Erin Lewis of Bloomington, sister of the bride, and Stacey Cook of Quincy.

Best man was Travis Merrill of Quincy, brother of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Mike Aviles of Bloomington, brother-in-law of the bride, and Sean Cook of Quincy.

Ushers were Juben Moss of Hannibal, Mo., Darrin Hildebrand of Camp Point and Andrew Briney of Quincy.

Flower girl was Gabriella Cook.

A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the bridegroom's parents Aug. 13 in Tiramisu. A reception began at 8 p.m. in the Ambiance.

The bride is a graduate of Western Illinois University. She is employed by the Quincy Public Schools as a first-grade teacher at Madison School.

The bridegroom attended Spoon River College. He is a union electrician journeyman and is employed by Brown Electric.
