Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Beloit, Wis., was the setting for the Sept. 5 wedding of Michelle Morrison and Cris Merta, both of Sheboygan Falls, Wis.
The bride is a daughter of Brad and Linda Morrison of Quincy. The bridegroom is a son of Gerald and Carol Merta of Ellsworth, Wis.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents during the 10:30 a.m. ceremony conducted by the Rev. Gary Krahenbuhl. Music was provided by Randy Gracyalny, Linda Gracyalny, Teresa Gracyalny and Sarah Gracyalny. Also participating in the ceremony were Kelle Morrison and Kristin Morrison, readers; Ben Story, petitions; and Catie Clocke, Connor Clocke and Julie Ojeda, gifts.
Matron of honor was Megan Sapp-Nelson of West Lafayette, Ind. Bridesmaids were Jessica Weed of Newport, R.I., and Katie Jones of Dardenne Prairie, Mo.
Best man was Joseph Merta of Ellsworth, brother of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Robert Sumner of Cecil, Wis., and Lucas Allen of Oostburg, Wis.
Ushers were Brad Adams and Ryan Lee.
Flower girl was Kaelyn Sumner, and ring bearer was Nathaniel Merta, nephew of the bridegroom.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the bridegroom's parents Sept. 4 in La Casa Grande in Beloit. An hors d'oeuvres luncheon and reception began at noon in Briggs Mansion in Rockford.
The bridal couple are at home in Sheboygan Falls after honeymooning in Galena.
The bride earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Truman State University in 2001 and a master of science degree in speech language pathology from Purdue University in 2004. She is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association and is employed by Rehab Resources in Sheboygan.
The bridegroom earned a bachelor of science degree in geology from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in 2003. He is an Iraq War veteran, having served in the U.S. Army from 1994 to 2006.
