Married Aug. 15, 2009

Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia, Ill., was the setting for the Aug. 15 wedding of Amanda Marie Heikes and Jonathan Joseph Sander.

The bride is a daughter of Scott and Susan Heikes of 7326 N. 45th St., Quincy. The bridegroom is a son of Joe and Debbie Sander of Columbia.

Mr. Heikes gave his daughter in marriage during the 2 p.m. ceremony conducted by the Rev. Carl Scherrer. Music was provided by Brennan and Tanner Reed, and Rick Byers. Scripture readers were Johanna Ninnemann and Erinn Mitchell.

Maids of honor were Emily Heikes and Heather Heikes, sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jessica Sander, twin sister of the bridegroom, and Stephanie O'Malley.

Best men were Anthony Paisley and David Anderson. Groomsmen were Matt Markus and Lance Markus.

Ushers were Bryan Kolberg, Daniel Uhrhan and Robert Wilson.

A reception began at 5 p.m. in Royale Orleans in St. Louis.

The newlyweds are at home in Glen Carbon after honeymooning in Charleston, S.C.

The bride is a December 2008 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she was a member of Phi Mu sorority. She will receive a graduate degree in May from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville and is a financial analyst at Kraft Foods in Granite City.

The bridegroom graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering in May 2007 and a master of science degree in May 2008. He is an electrical engineer at Ameren in St. Louis.
