Overtime recap
Published: 3/2/2008 | Updated: 1/23/2009

With Marshall star Adrienne GodBold out of the equation for good, the Lady Raiders didn't waste any time.

After Renita Bunte split two free throws, Chloe Barnes scored what proved to be QND's only basket of the period when she drove the baseline for a 68-65 lead with 3:08 left.

The Lady Raiders crooked free-throw shooting carried over from the end of regulation as Bunte and Barnes each split two free throws. Fortunately, Marshall missed its first three shots and QND built a 70-65 lead with 1:35 left.

Sarah Rogers ended the Commandos' drought by hitting a jumper with 1:26 left to cut QND's lead to 70-67. Tatiana Walker swiped the ball from QND's Leigh McLaughlin and Rogers converted with a layup to make it a 70-69 with 1:03 left.

After Hilary Obert split two free throws, Marshall tied the game at 71 on a Walker jumper with 41 seconds left. Four seconds later, Obert split two free throws for a 72-71 lead. Laquentra Lemons made a jumper with 25 seconds that gave Marshall a 73-72 lead.

Marshall's Meelun McCray was called for a technical foul for tipping the ball after it went through the hoop. Barnes made one of two free throws to tie the game at 73.

Lemons fouled Bunte with 12.3 seconds left, but Bunte missed both free throws. After Marshall pushed the ball up the court and Walker was fouled with 3.7 seconds left on a putback attempt. She made both free throws for a 75-73 lead. QND threw the ball away on its ensuing possession. McCray made one of two free throws with 2.6 seconds left.

A desperation heave by Bunte near midcourt went off the back of the iron as QND's perfect season came to an end.
