Second quarter recap
Published: 3/1/2008 | Updated: 1/23/2009

Jumpers by Karlee Gengenbacher and a 3-pointer by Renita Bunte helped keep the Lady Raiders within striking distance to begin the second quarter.

The Lady Broncos built an five-point lead midway through the frame, 18-13, fueled by a pair of 3-pointers form Alison Seberger.

Gengenbacher cut the Montini lead to two points, 15-13, on a basket with 4:59 remaining, but the Lady Raiders would only score one more field goal in the quarter on a fast break basket from Leigh McLaughlin at the 2:40 mark.

Lady Raiders coach Eric Orne made sure plenty of team members touched Doug Collins Court, substituting three, four and at times five players at a time.

McLaughlin added three more free throws to the Lady Raiders' side of the scoreboard, keeping QND within four points.

But the Montini long range assault coninuted, as the Lady Broncos made two more triples in the final two and a half minutes.

The final score of the quarter, a 3-pointer from Sharon Lenert, gave Montini the seven-point advantage heading into the locker room.

While the Lady Raiders scored six points in the paint, the Lady Broncos relied on its bench for eight points to keep the lead.
