Former Central Services Director Mike Beebe pleaded not guilty Wednesday to a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.

Beebe was arrested Sept. 14 in connection with an incident at the Central Services Department, 2020 Jennifer Road. Beebe was released on a $75 cash bond.

Judge Thomas Ortbal scheduled a December jury trial for Beebe, who is being represented by Quincy attorney Don Heck.

Beebe was on unpaid suspension from Sept. 9 until his employment with the city was severed. A one-sentence press release issued by the city Sept. 24 said simply: "The city announced today that Mike Beebe and the City of Quincy have severed their employer/employee relationship."

The Herald-Whig filed a Freedom of Information Act request for a copy of the severance agreement, but the request was denied by City Attorney Anthony B. Cameron. An appeal of that decision has been filed with Mayor John Spring.

Beebe had been director of Central Services since May 2005. His salary was $79,291.
