Canton driver injured when car strikes deer on U.S. 61 in Lewis County

LAGRANGE, Mo. — A Canton driver was slightly injured when her car hit a deer at 1:35 a.m. today on U.S. 61, two miles south of Route P in Lewis County.

Magan L. Griggs, 25, was taken by Lewis County EMS to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill., for treatment.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a 1996 Plymouth Voyager was traveling south when it struck a deer. The van came to rest on the shoulder of the road. Griggs was not wearing a seat belt.

Assisting were the LaGrange Police Department and LaGrange First Responders.
