A traffic stop near Second and Jersey at about midnight Tuesday resulted in a Hannibal man being arrested on a charge of possession of cannabis.

An Adams County Sheriff's Department deputy conducted the traffic stop and could smell a strong odor of cannabis coming from the vehicle.

Gary W. Dorsey, 28, of Hannibal, Mo., a passenger in the front seat of the vehicle, was arrested on a charge of possession of cannabis between 10 and 30 grams. The driver, Arica L. Brookens, 26, of Jefferson City, Mo., was ticketed on a charge of driving while license was suspended. Both were lodged in the Adams County Jail.

Quincy Police Department assisted.
