Warning -- Saturday's Halloween show at Turner Hall in Quincy is NOT for the faint of heart.

Sometimes controversial and always over the top, Iowa City band Human Aftertaste headlines the concert. Texas Funerals, Mob Action and Brave Adult Club are also on the bill, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and admission just $5.

It's part of a huge rock weekend at Turner Hall, 926 Hampshire. Friday night features local bands Predawn Hour, the Pimpkatz and Mindeffect of Galesburg.

Human Aftertaste has been described as Gwar meets Alice Cooper. They are known for shocking stage shows and interesting costumes.

"They are very theatrical," said Alex Sanders of Quincy, who plays in the Texas Funerals. "It sometimes gets messy and they have been controversial in some places for it."

Band members are in costume, led by front man Count Jabula.

"It is an astonishing show and you will be amazed that you are actually seeing it in Quincy," Sanders said. "It's not for the easily offended. It is rock theater at its finest and dirtiest, all in one place."

Some of the live performances are shown on the band's Web site, www.humanaftertaste.com. Human Aftertaste even has it's own "sitcom" on the Web site.

Sanders says the bands will be giving away "mystery prizes" for the costume contest and for the pre-carved pumpkin contest.
