Two men were arrested Wednesday in connection with the Monday home invasion in the 200 block of South 11th when a woman was beaten and her purse stolen.

Arrested and lodged in the Adams County Jail were James B. Clarke, 39, and Richard D. Whitaker, 38, both of 517 Payson Ave.

Police said the investigation continues to identify a third person involved in the incident.

The 32-year-old victim told police three people forced their way into her home at 10:52 p.m. Monday, beat her and took her purse. She was treated for a laceration to the head and other minor injuries.
