One year later, what's status of Newcomb Hotel upgrades?

To The Herald-Whig

One year ago I wrote a Letter to the Editor and asked the questions as to what was happening in regard to the Newcomb Hotel improvements.

The next week Mayor John Spring made a statement on the local news that we would very soon be seeing activity with improvements being done to the hotel. This he stated should create jobs for many in our city, this was encouraging news.

Sounds good, but nothing visible seems to be happening and my thoughts are, what is the status of the loan, is it current, are taxes current.

At one time both the taxes and the loan was in the arrears.

Many citizens and myself are asking why is nothing being done to move this project along?

I have lost track of the many years that this hotel has just been deteriorating with nothing seeming being done to see that this project be completed.

Many excuses, but no action. In my opinion, it is time to fish or cut bait.
