A Quincy man caught by authorities in a Taylor, Mo., hotel earlier this month is facing four methamphetamine-related felony charges.

Rory Maynor, 40, was in court Wednesday for two counts of aggravated unlawful participation in meth production. Authorities say he and Christie Smith, 37, were making meth Nov. 2 and knew there were children inside the Quincy residence, which makes each count a Class X felony.

Smith faces the same charges. Each count is punishable by up to 30 years in prison, and each faces an additional charge of meth-related child endangerment, a Class 1 felony.

Smith was lodged in the Adams County Jail on $100,000 bond. The bond was reduced to $10,000 during a hearing Wednesday, as long as Smith complies with Department of Child and Family Services conditions and with an order of protection she filed against Maynor on Nov. 2.

Smith will have a preliminary hearing Dec. 2.

Maynor also is in the jail on bonds of $75,000 and $50,000 for another charge. Maynor is scheduled to have a Dec. 9 preliminary hearing for the Nov. 2 charges.

Maynor was on probation for an earlier drug conviction, and a petition to revoke the probation has been filed. He also faces a meth production charge from a separate incident in Quincy in September.

Maynor was wanted for an active Adams County meth warrant when he and two others were arrested Nov. 9 in the Tic Toc Motel off of U.S. 61. He waived extradition and came back to Quincy about a week after his arrest in Missouri, authorities said.

Court records show Maynor pleaded guilty in Quincy in March 2008 to possession of meth and was admitted to the Adams County Drug Court program.

A petition to revoke his probation was filed in September, and Maynor posted 10 percent of a $7,500 bond to remain free, court records show.
