NAUVOO, Ill. -- The core cast of the Nauvoo Pageant takes its show on the road, including a stop in Quincy, with performances of "Our Story Goes On."

Accomplished musicians, composers, singers and actors will blend their talents to present the show, which features narrative interwoven with Broadway and American musical classics.

The Broadway-style production with a spiritual nature "is just a great performance. I tell people I think it's as good as any Broadway play they might see other than 'Phantom' or 'Les Mis,'" Pageant President Jack Renouf said.

The free performances will take place:

* Sunday during the dedication and ribbon cutting for the new Memorial Hospital in Carthage.

* Sunday at 4 and 6:30 p.m. at St. Boniface Church, Seventh and Maine in Quincy.

* July 19 at 4 and 6:30 p.m. at Marine Bank and Trust in Carthage.

* July 26 at the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center in Fairfield, Iowa.

Tickets are not required for any of the performances, and there is no charge to attend. Free-will donations encouraged at each location will benefit civic organizations in each community -- the Historic Quincy Business District, Memorial Hospital and Fairfield First Fridays Art Walk.

"These performances offer us an opportunity to give back to those here in the Midwest who have given so much support to the pageant over the years," Nauvoo Pageant writer and producer David Warner said.

"We are very happy to be able to partner with the Nauvoo Pageant to bring this superb experience to our community," HQBD Executive Director Travis Brown said.
