KINDERHOOK, lll. -- A summer speaker series highlighting community engagement with Abraham Lincoln's legacies continues Tuesday night near Kinderhook.

"Archaeology Experiences, Collaborative Networks and Innovative Informatics for a National Historic Landmark" will be presented by Kathryn Fay, George Calfas and Annelise Morris. The program begins at 7 p.m. at Sprague's Kinderhook Lodge.

Fay and Calfas are graduate students in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and members of the New Philadelphia archaeology project team; Morris will receive her bachelor of arts in anthropology from the university in 2009 and also is a member of the project team.

The trio participated in the National Science Foundation's Research Experiences for Undergraduates program at New Philadelphia. They will discuss their experiences conducting excavations, artifact analysis and historical studies of New Philadelphia's past and with new innovations in community networks and information exchanges.

Programs take place at 7 p.m. each Tuesday night through July 21 at the lodge, located between Kinderhook and Barry on Ill. 106.

The speaker series, sponsored by the New Philadelphia Association, is presented with the generous support of the Illinois Humanities Council, the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Illinois General Assembly.
