Warren Hull better get ready to race.

Hull, of Ursa, won the national Upickem Auto Racing contest featured in The Herald-Whig, topping a field of more than 48,000 online contestants and earning the grand prize of a trip for two to the Richard Petty Driving Experience.

Contestants picked the order of finish of each week's NASCAR Sprint Cup race and accumulated points. Their top 15 weeks counted toward the final score.

Hull posted a score of 12,722, edging a contestant from Ohio by 13 points. He won The Herald-Whig local contest by nearly 140 points, receiving two tickets to the 2009 Daytona 500.

James Devlin of Hannibal finished 16th nationally.

As for the national grand prize, Hull and one guest will be treated to one day of instruction and racing in a certified NASCAR vehicle.

Each driver receives one hour of instruction, a group ride around the speedway and further in-car instruction. After that, each driver gets to drive 30 laps, split into three segments with additional instruction between each segment.

Each driver receives a certificate of completion and stats on their lap times and speeds.
