The Quincy University women's soccer team came close to a school record Tuesday night in handing Culver-Stockton a 15-0 loss in the Pepsi Great River Cup match at Ayers Field in Canton, Mo.

The Lady Hawks' goal output was the second-highest in school history, falling just short of the school record of 17 set in a win over Illinois College in 1992.

Becky Fleming scored just over two minutes into the game for QU (4-2). Fleming and Beth Hettenhausen each scored twice for the Lady Hawks. Hettenhausen earned game MVP honors.

Twelve different Lady Hawks scored as Quincy outshot C-SC (1-6) 47-3. Since the advent of the Great River Cup, QU has outscored C-SC 40-1 in four matches.

In the men's game, Jack Wedemeier put QU on top with a goal in the 19th minute as the Hawks went on to capture a 5-1 victory.

Wedemeier added another goal in the second half to earn game MVP honors as the Hawks improved to 5-0.

Bryan Fahs scored in the 89th minute for C-SC (1-6).
