INDIANAPOLIS -- J.D. Sohn's impact on the Maryville men's soccer team was undeniable.
The Quincy High School product started 10 of the Saints' 17 games, including the final six, helped them win 10 Great Lakes Valley Conference games -- the most in program history -- and pushed them into the NCAA Division II United Soccer Coaches poll as Maryville climbed as high as 19th.
For his efforts, Sohn was named the GLVC Co-Freshman of the Year. He shared the award with Bellarmine defender Eddie Williamson.
Sohn has seven goals and two assists for Maryville, which was third in the latest Midwest Region rankings. Six teams receive bids to the NCAA regional.
