The Rev. Robert Barko was ordained a priest Oct. 14 at St. Peter Church in Chicago by the laying on of hands of Bishop Alberto Rojas Garcia, an auxiliary bishop of Chicago.

Rojas preached about the humble privilege and sacrifice involved in being chosen by God as a priest for God's people. John Dombrowski and Rose Pritasil were the vesting ministers. Kurt Hartrich, pastor of St. Peter's, and John Eaton, provincial vicar, were the principal con-celebrants, along with Rojas and Barko. Arthur Anderson served as the minister of ceremonies.

A meal and fellowship followed in the parish hall.

Barko offered his first Mass of Thanksgiving at the Sunday Eucharist on Oct. 15 at St. Peter's.?He is now parochial vicar at St. Francis Catholic Church in Quincy. He moved here in July to complete his diaconate experience and will now serve the parish as a priest.
