Dave Bolen, managed solutions specialist at ETC ComputerLand, has recently passed the Designing for Cisco Internetwork Solutions exam. The exam requires a foundation of network design for Cisco enterprise network architectures. Certified professionals can design routed and switched network infrastructures and services involving LAN/WAN technologies for SMB or basic enterprise campus and branch networks.


Eric Thomas has joined Media Development in Quincy as an account manager. He had been a marketing consultant with WGEM-TV. He has a bachelor's degree in business management from Culver-Stockton College. Media Development is part of the ETC Group of Quincy, which includes ETC Computerland, an information technology services, hardware and support provider; and Vervocity Interactive, an e-marketing and internet service provider.

Ben Drebes of North Adams State Bank has been promoted to vice president of lending. He has been in banking for 10 years and with North Adams State Bank since 2013. He offers various loans but specializes in ag loans.

Gretchen McDonald, owner of Designer's Edge Day Spa Salon in Quincy, has been elected vice president of Cosmetologists Illinois, an independent association of salon professionals. CI provides education and networking opportunities throughout the state, and represents salon professionals on legislative issues. McDonald, a master colorist, has been in the industry for 30 years.


Jeanie Shumate, payment poster, is a recipient of the Quincy Medical Group Experience the Difference Award. Award recipients live by the QMG mission, vision and values in dealing with patients and co-workers. Shumate, who has been with QMG for 17 years, was nominated by Lisa Baugher, who said Schumate's calm demeanor helped the team accomplish a record year.
