QUINCY -- Two Quincy men made their first appearances Monday in Adams County Circuit Court after being arrested Friday morning in connection with a break-in at a former tire store.

Cory C. Cobb, 40, and Dustin E. Willis, 37, were each charged with burglary, a Class 2 felony.

The Quincy Police Department said the two were found about 5:30 a.m. inside the former Ron's Tire, 1401 Gardner Expressway, after officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress.

Judge Robert Adrian appointed Chief Public Defender Todd Nelson to represent Cobb and Public Defender Babs Brennan to represent Willis.

If convicted, Cobb faces between three and 14 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, and Willis faces three to seven years.

Willis remains held in the Adams County Jail on $20,000 bond. Cobb is free after posting $2,000. Both are set to return to court Dec. 12 for preliminary hearings.
