HANNIBAL, Mo. -- Hannibal business 2 Besties Biscuits has announced that for the second annual Operation: Feed the Furballs, cats at the Northeast Missouri Humane Society also will receive assistance through the community-giving project this year.
Traditionally, all proceeds from 2 Besties Biscuits' sale of pink dog biscuit packages now through April 30 will be used to buy meals for dogs at the Humane Society. But, Sunrise Transport based in New London, Mo., has said it will donate 10 percent of proceeds from each package sold so that the felines can be fed, as well.
"It's so awesome. Sunrise Transport has always supported both us and the shelter," 2 Besties Biscuits co-founder Angela Brown said. "Last year, we just fed the dogs with the opfurballs money. This year they thought we should put a spin on it. We are all really excited to see how it unfolds."
The first Operation: Feed the Furballs began in January 2017, and with the money raised, 2 Besties Biscuits provided 4,832 meals to dogs at the Humane Society.
Hannibal businesses selling pink packages of biscuits are Mark Twain Dinette, Java Jive, Chocolaterie Stam, Ole Planter's Restaurant, Finn's Food and Spirits, and the Hannibal Chiropractic and Wellness.
