Hawks drop five-set match

QUINCY -- After forcing a fifth set, the Quincy University men's volleyball team lost to Fort Wayne 25-16, 23-25, 25-19, 26-24, 15-9 in a Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association match Saturday night at Pepsi Arena.

The Hawks hit .323 with only three errors in the fourth set. QU trailed 24-23 before scoring the last three points, capped off by Shane McAdams' service ace.

Anthony Winter and McAdams led the Hawks (8-8, 0-5) with nine kills apiece. Collin Merk had 18 digs and Thane Fanfulik handed out 31 assists.
