QUINCY -- The Quincy woman accused of stealing from a resident of the Quincy Senior and Family Resource Center has pleaded not guilty to one count of residential burglary.

Court records show Michelle N. Steffen entered the plead Friday in Adams County Circuit Court. An Adams County grand jury indictment was filed Thursday.

Her case was placed on the May jury trial docket

Steffen, 50, was arrested Jan. 29 after an investigation at the assisted living facility at 639 York. Steffen is accused of entering a room without the permission of the 69-year-old resident and taking items while the resident was not home.

She remains free on a recognizance bond.
