Quincy Unitarian Church hosting annual plant, book and bake sale

QUINCY -- Quincy Unitarian Church will hold its annual plant, book and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the church, 1479 Hampshire.?Patrons should enter through the front doors of the church, nearest Hampshire Street; handicap accessibility is available at the 16th Street exit doors.

Many of the plants have been dug from members' gardens, including hosta, raspberries and an occasional tree, alongside conventional varieties of garden vegetables and seedling flowers. Al Beck's Saved Seed Collection features unusual varieties not found in seed stores. He has donated over 60 varieties of Heritage tomato seeds and many herb, squash, cucumber and pepper seeds to the church.

The bake sale includes pies, cakes, breads, cookies, jams and jellies, and several specialty items such as sugar-free and gluten-free.
