Mary Ann and Bill Moore of 3360 Genevieve Drive are observing their 65th wedding anniversary. They will celebrate with a Mass at 4:30 p.m. July 21 at St. Francis Catholic Church, followed by a family dinner at Sprout's Inn, hosted by their children. Friends are invited to the Mass.
They also celebrated their anniversary with a cruise to the Panama Canal in November 2017.
Mr. Moore and the former Mary Ann Wiemelt were married July 16, 1953, at St. Francis Catholic Church.
Mrs. Moore is a daughter of the late Richard and Loretta Wiemelt. Mr. Moore is a son of the late James and Ella Moore.
They are the parents of Bob (Sherry) of Venice Beach, Fla., Ken (Cathy) Moore of Alpharetta, Ga., and Linda Moore and John Moore of Quincy; a daughter, Sherry, died in 1960. They have 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Moore retired in 1995 from Knapheide Manufacturing Co. after 23 years of service. He is a member of the Machinists Retirees Club and St. Francis Holy Name and is a life member of South Side Boat Club.
Mrs. Moore retired in 1995 from the Illinois Department of Employment Securities after 20 years of employment. She is a member of Ladies of St. Francis and is treasurer of the Machinists Lodge Retirees Club.
They are members of St. Francis Catholic Church and former members of St. Joseph Catholic Church in rural Quincy. They enjoy their garden and traveling to visit their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The couple met at the Maid-Rite when they were teenagers.
